Christian William Boyens M.D., 45 of Waimanalo, passed away January 16, 2012. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut. He was Devoted Father, Husband and Physician. He is survived by wife, Krista M. Boyens; son, Christian Joseph “CJ” Boyens; parents, William and Dorothy Boyens; sisters, Susan Donahue and Jean Boyens; In-Laws, step parents, aunts, uncle, nephews and cousins; aloha attire.
My family's thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. He was a wonderful man and I will miss his wit and humor.

I have been going along with my fiancee for her appointments with Dr.
Boyens. He was so great that I was in the process of switching insurance
so I could also come to see him. He will be greatly missed. Our
thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. God Bless.
What a lost not just for his family and friends but for our community as a whole. He was such a character full of life and so funny. May you rest in peaceful sleep until we see you in Heaven. Bettina Clifton, Mt. Shasta, CAOne of the saddest days in my life was finding out about Christian
passing away. He was a one of a kind. An original. A dude that could
light up a room with his presence. And party with the best of them. I
feel privileged to have known him. There hasn't been a day that's
gone by since his death that I haven't thought about him. The saving
grace is that we had some cool times, that I can tap into the memory
banks and smile, sometimes laugh, at some of the crazy fun things
that we did. His specialty was "crazy fun!" I know he's in a better
place and making the most of it, just as he made the most of being
here with us.
To Krista, CJ, Dorothy, and the entire Boyen's family, I send my
deepest condolences. My prayers will always be with all of you, that
you may find the peace of mind and the strength to survive this
tragedy.

dr. Boyens was the only doctor I ever trusted enough to tell the.
Whole truth about what was up with me. Everyone is right -he
was funny, smart, caring and thoutful. He was a great doctor and
a special human being.

Dr. Boyens was my friend and Doctor and cared for many
of my needs. This is a shock to me as I had a great
doctor relationship with him. It was in 2005 when he
visited my father in ICU and came to see him on his
day off. He was dying and he took the time to see him
and I was so impressed with that , I retained him as
my personal Doctor after that. A very kind man who
cared for many of my concerns. His laughter and just
being himself was a special means for my visits to
him. I am grieved by his passing and so young to have
this happen to him. His son will carry on his name and
will always be remembered in my soul. Bless his wife
and son and family and be comforted by the one who put
us on the earth to live a fullfilled life to the end.
He will be remembered in a great way and his life as a
wonderful Doctor. I will never be able to replace him
and hope that his family and wife will recover this
loss. It will take time and his beautiful Son will
carry on to remember him as This is my Dad. I will
keep all the family in my prayers and Love to all of
you. My tears are for all your family and Your Wife.

To The Family of the Late Dr. Boyens,I'm so grieved with his sudden passing. Please accept My Deepest Sympathy. My Son and I last saw Dr. Boyens
a few days before Christmas to drop off gifts. That
visit turned into a office visit. His Friendly staff
asked me if I wanted to see Dr. Boyens today. I was due to visit him (in February appt). He took me in and did the February Appt in this visit. I can't believe that He (Dr. Boyens) is gone. He was My Hero and Always was Happy to see Me and My Late Huspand
when we had appointments with him or saw him at Castle Hospital. He treated my Sons and Daughters special too. He will be missed dearly.
I missed when Krista hooked me up with her Dad and I left Hawaii
and moved to Illinois. I miss you even more now. You've always
been nice to me and never judged me. I will never forget the many
nights you'd come home from work and Krista and I would be at
my place watching tv, eating dinner. I'll never forget the Sunday's
at your place for your real competitive game of volleyball. I'll never
forget your smile, your humor, your bedside manner, your
friendship and the unconditional love you had for Krista and your
family. Rest well, my Friend. I will love you and think of you
always.

selfishly thinking, "Who will be my doctor now?" as
Dr. Boyens has been my doctor since I moved to Hawaii
nearly 8 years ago. He truly cared! He was smart and
funny, and I trusted him! I always thought he was
just extraordinary. I will miss him terribly!!!!!!!!!
But beyond my selfish sorrow, I am very, very sad for
the family he left behind, and you will be in my
prayers as you face new challenges. May you be
comforted by your memories of precious time spent
together, by his spirit which remains with you, by the
love you shared and which will never end, and may God
bless, comfort, heal, and strengthen you. Aloha

We are so shocked and saddened by this tragedy. Our deepest
condolences to the Boyens family. I will never forget Dr. Boyens proudly
showing us pictures of CJ after he was born. We started to see Doctor
Boyens when my husband and I were first married in 2001, and he has
been part of the family ever since. He was the kindest, funniest and most
caring doctor ever. He can never be replaced and our sense of loss is
overwhelming. We are so sorry Krista. Please let us know if there is
anything we can do.

He was a true gift to all that he touched, and will remain in our hearts. Even when we call from Costa Rica in the middle of the night. our son had eaten something bad and caught a bug. He answered our call and informed us on what we needed to do. Dr. Boyens helped us in our ultimate time of need. All with a smile and telling us "anytime".

I've never trusted a doctor before to tell the whole crazy, ugly truth of my past until I met Christian. With him, nothing seemed embarassing or humiliating. How funny he became my Doctor he was more then my doc he was my mentor and a great friend. We talked about everything under the sun surfing, jet skiing, and his love for his new family Krista and CJ. When I found out he passed away I was so divistated and cryed almost everyday we the community lost a great Doctor and a wonderful friend you will never be forgotten! See you in heaven my friend!

I was so saddened to hear of Dr. Boyens' passing. He was not only
my PCM but my three young children's as well. He always listened
and gave his undivided attention to each of us. If I was in for a visit
he would check us all out just to see how we were holding up. They
loved going to the doctor because of him. One of the most heart
wrenching moments for me , was watching their faces as I told them
about his passing. My son teared up and my daughter could not
speak. We were due to see him after the holidays. Know that he
was an incredible man and my inspiration for returning to medical
school in the near future. If I can be half the doctor he was...I know I
am on the right track. We are truly heartbroken. May you and young
CJ find peace in this loss.
